X-rays are often the first imaging technique used to diagnose a wide range of medical conditions, offering quick and reliable results to support timely treatment decisions.

How to Prepare:

To prepare for your X-ray at Erin Diagnostic Imaging, you may be asked to wear comfortable clothing and avoid items with metal such as zippers, buttons, jewelry, or body piercings, as these can interfere with the images. In some cases, you may be asked to change into a gown to ensure the best possible quality of imaging.

Please bring your requisition form and valid health card to your appointment. You can eat and drink normally. If there is any chance you may be pregnant, please inform the technologist before your X-ray is performed.

What Happens During my X-Ray:

During your X-ray at Erin Diagnostic Imaging, you will be greeted by our team and asked to confirm your requisition and health information. The technologist will briefly explain the exam and guide you into the X-ray room, where you may be asked to change into a gown depending on the area being imaged.

The technologist will position you carefully to ensure the best possible images are obtained. You may be asked to stand, sit, or lie down, and to hold still or briefly hold your breath while the image is taken. The process is quick, painless, and typically takes only a few minutes per area.

Once the images are complete, they are reviewed for quality before you are free to go. Your results will then be interpreted by a radiologist and sent to your referring healthcare provider.
